NCBC Music Directors

Artistic Leadership:
North Carolina Boys Choir and North Carolina Girls Choir is proud to introduce its current music leaders: Music Director Robert Unger and Associate Choir Director David Cole.  Both are experienced professionals who conducted several acclaimed choirs throughout the country and/or regionally.

  

  • Music Director Robert Unger brings a wide variety of teaching and conducting experiences to our choir. He is Director of Worship and Music at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Cary, NC; the former Artistic Director and conductor of The Raleigh Boychoir, Raleigh, NC; and, previously, a Co-founder and Conductor of the Badger State Girl Choir, Neenah, WI; and a conductor of the Appleton Boychoir, Appleton, WI. He has over 40 (forty) years of choral conducting experience.

  • Associate Choir Director David Cole has been the accompanist for the NC Boys and Girls Choirs for six years. As an alumnus and former board member of The Raleigh Boychoir, his experience in that ensemble inspired David to study the organ, church music and liturgy in college and graduate school. He has served as a church and community choir director and organist in several states over the course of 20 (twenty) years. Presently he serves First Baptist Church, Henderson, NC as Associate Minister of Music.

Artistic Staff:

  • Accompanist Ramon Brito has a wide variety of performing and teaching experience in North Carolina and abroad.  He has a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Elon University and Master’s in piano performance from the Belarusian State Academy of Music.  Native of Caracas (Venezuela), Ramon speaks English, Spanish and Russian.  He teaches piano and keyboard proficiency at Elon University, Elon, NC, where he has worked as a music instructor for over 12 (twelve) years.  Ramon is in high demand as a piano instructor at his private piano studio.
